SAN DIEGO, October 15, 2021 / PRNewswire / – James perry, Vice President of Business Development at ASTERRA, a division of Util, will lead the conversation on Water leak detection using L-Band Radar and how it relates to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6. ASTERRA has carried out more than 400 projects around the world using its Recover product.

WEFTEC 2021 is the first major event in the water sector in two years. Many water utilities work with Recovery of ASTERRA technology to locate leaks in their distribution networks. Using specialized RADAR signals from satellites, ASTERRA illuminates areas of interest and collects the resulting reflected signals. These signals are analyzed and processed to identify specific indicators of wet soil saturated with drinking water. The result is a map showing the likely locations of the leaks; this is then used to target and resolve leaks.

When addressing conference visitors, Perry will highlight ASTERRA technology solutions that provide the information needed to take action that supports the resilience of global resources. Saving the water and electricity needed to pump it (along with the associated CO2 emissions) has a positive environmental impact for Recover customers around the world. Perry will speak at SDG Theater booth 761 South Hall A on October 19 of 10:30 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. central time.

Visitors are invited to ASTERRA booth # 4415 where they can also meet the CEO of ASTERRA Elly Perets which is based at the ASTERRA headquarters in Israel.

This year’s WEFTEC is its 94e gathering of water community time. It will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago, HE. The conference takes place from 16-20 October 2021, and the exhibition runs from 18-20 October 2021.
