This week on Federal technical conference, home of interviews with John Gilroy Federal Presidency General Manager Clara Conti and CTO Craig Heartwell. Presidio Federal is a relatively new company, but its team has decades of experience. We examined how this experience can help the federal government in its modernization challenge.
In May cybersecurity decree from the White House, a key phrase read: “The federal government must make bold changes. It is all well and good to write that kind of sentence in a document, but it is quite another to accomplish any kind of modernization in a large federal system.
Conti and Heartwell have decades of successful experience helping agencies make digital transitions, be they ‘bold’ or not. Conti emphasizes maintaining relationships with a wide variety of suppliers to assemble the right package for a specific federal concern.
Heartwell examines the federal technology problems of a person who started programming at a young age. This gives them the ability to take a deep look at a problem and understand the core issues that may have nothing to do with a cloud service provider, but perhaps a strategic design structure.
He delves deeper into design when he talks about going beyond the cloud by applying automation to what he calls “network as a service”.
For those who wish to deepen the Presidio Federal, the society sponsors an annual conference Digital Transformation Forum which provides more details on the modernization of federal agencies.
