Hunter Education, Shreve Lake, Trap Shooting


Hunter education course

Hunter Education Classes at the Shreve Farmer’s Sportsman Club will be held August 26-27, 6 to 9 p.m., and August 28, noon to 5 p.m.

People have to attend all three courses and pass the test in order to get a first hunting license. The course is free and open to the public, however space is limited. For more information, contact Missy at 330-464-5621. The club is located at 8430 Township Road 513, Shreve.

Shreve Lake Restoration Push

Signatures from Shreve Lake Restoration are needed for a petition for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to return the stunning lake to its original beauty as soon as possible.

Fall Trap League

The East Holmes Sportsman’s Association is looking for teams to join their 15-team drop trap league starting September 8. It will be a program of 50 birds for 10 weeks. If you’re interested or know someone who might be, call 330-204-3684 or 330-231-9158 for more information.

NWTF Banquet

The 2021 Killbuck Valley Longbeards National Wild Turkey Federation Banquet will be held on Saturday, August 28 at Harvest Ridge, 8880 State Route 39 in Millersburg. Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner is served at 6.30 p.m.

Table Captains can purchase a table for eight, which includes eight meals, four memberships, and $ 100 in bonus raffle tickets. Individual tickets, player club packages and raffle tickets are available. The reservation deadline is Wednesday August 18.

Fall shots at the Shreve Farmer’s Sportsman Club will take place on the following Sundays, August 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; September 5, 12, 19, 26; and October 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31.
