Olympic plumbing technology offers three water heaters with professional installation: name a neighbor in need

Tits holiday season is particularly difficult. It goes without saying, right? Olympic plumbing technology (OPT), Thurston County’s favorite family-owned plumbing company, is looking to lighten the load this year or at least provide the universal soothing comfort of hot water by offering three water heaters.

Since 2007, Olympic Plumbing Technology has made great strides in the field of plumbing using the most technologically advanced and least invasive methods in the plumbing service industry. This season they will be making great strides for our community by offering three water heaters with professional installation to homeowners in need in our community.

The ability to give back is very important to Ron and Kimberly Boeckmann, the husband and wife team that runs the OPT. The business grew from Ron and Kimberly at the start to a full workforce of 13 including 7 full-time plumbers.

“Giving back is really important to us,” Kimberly says, “that’s exactly how Ron and I operate. I’m constantly trying to balance being a mom and running a small business, and I have all of these different things going on. But behind it all, the core of what Ron and I are really focused on is caring for our customers, our employees and our community. “

OPT has partnered with its supplier, Ferguson, who generously supplied the water heaters. But the installation of the units will be done by Olympic Plumbing Technology and will be worth $ 1,600 each. This great gesture comes at a time when many people are out of work and need a little home comfort while staying at home.

There are no catches in the fine print. It’s just a nice gesture from a caring company to three owners in the region. Kimberly emphasizes that the installation must be what she calls “like for like”. If the existing unit is a gas water heater, a gas unit will be installed, if the unit is electric, an electric one will be installed. No change of system or carpentry is included in the gift.

To participate, applicants must be homeowners who occupy their home in Thurston County and in the Olympic Plumbing Technology service area. The water heater must be 10 years or older, and the giveaway does not extend to RVs.

To designate yourself or a neighbor in need, complete the nomination form on the Olympic Plumbing Technology website. The contest runs from November 30, 2020 to December 18, 2020 at midnight. The winners will be chosen on December 22, 2020 by an OPT committee and will be announced on their Instagram and Facebook pages, and also on local radios, KGY 95.3 and KAYO 96.9.

Just like many other things homeowners can struggle to maintain, water heaters should be serviced annually. “They should be rinsed off once a year,” Kimberly says. “This prevents the accumulation of sediment at the bottom of them, which decreases the quality of the water they produce.”

Water heaters typically have an 8 to 12 year lifespan and are typically affixed with an installed date to help homeowners easily date their units. When your hot water unit breaks down it’s usually incredibly obvious, but the sneaky one fails as an unnoticed leak can wreak havoc throughout the house.

Heated water has gone from a luxury to a necessity, especially during the colder months. A hot tub is a gift, as is a sink full of soapy water for washing dishes. Olympic Plumbing Technology knows this and that’s why they want to help. “I don’t know of any other service company that does things like this,” Kimberly shares, “and I think that’s really what sets us apart.”

When asked to share more stories about how her business has impacted the community, Kimberly pauses as if she doesn’t know where to start. “Some of our core values are about integrity, teamwork, customer service and everything that goes with it,” she says. “Not that long ago Ron went to an elderly client and found her in very poor health. He did the job for free because it was the right thing to do.

Kimberly shares that the OPT has a budget reserved for these meetings. A donation fund where OPT can not only provide exemplary customer service, but can also make a real impact in someone’s life. “We have so many stories like this,” Kimberly smirked, “which ones do you want to know…? “

Olympic Plumbing Technology prides itself on finding less invasive ways to meet the wide range of plumbing needs of our customers using the latest technology in the industry, at an affordable price.
