Ukraine ratifies agreements with France to improve water supply in Lugansk region and city of Kiev


The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has ratified a framework agreement between the governments of Ukraine and the French Republic to support the financing of a project to improve the supply of drinking water in the Luhansk region.

A total of 348 MPs voted in favor of the relevant decision on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to the explanatory note, the document was prepared on the initiative of the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine in accordance with the requirements of the Law “On International Treaties of Ukraine”.

Thus, the adoption of the document will create a legal basis for the implementation of the framework agreement and the investment project aimed at improving the supply of drinking water in the Luhansk region.

The total amount of funds from the Government of the French Republic for the implementation of the project is 70 million euros.

In addition, 349 deputies voted for the law ratifying the framework agreement between the government of Ukraine and the government of the French Republic on official support for the project to improve the water supply in the city of Kiev. .

According to the explanatory note, the ratification of the agreement and its entry into force will create a legal basis for attracting resources in the form of a concessional Treasury loan in the amount of 70 million euros by concluding separate credits and other contracts / agreements for the activities of the investment project aimed at improving the water supply of the city of Kiev.
